What is Emu Oil?

Emu oil is extracted from certain subspecies of the Australian flightless bird, Emu. The oil itself can widely vary in both viscosity and color, all dependent on the diet of the emu. 70% of refined emu oil is composed of unsaturated fatty acids and according to the American Emu Association, roughly 20% of industrialized emu oil refining is linoleic acid (an omega-6 fatty acid) and varies in potency.
